Oct 23: I am having a hard time here up in my suite overlooking the Salt Lake valley. For lunch I had carmelized Salmon with Mango Salsa and Asparagus. It really was as good as it sounds. No laundry, no dishes, and no weeds to pull.
The nurses have me walking laps. Foley catheter (bladder catheter) is out, IV disconnected, A little nausea last night. Pain reasonably well controlled. Passing gas. Catching a few winks between visitors, nursing checks, or monitor beeps.
Thanks to all for the beautiful flowers.
Over all, feeling well.

Sarcasm first day post op? You're amazing.
They really have you doing a lot.
I'm glad you are passing gas. :)
I know that means good things, but it STILL makes me laugh to see it written!
Love you!
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! You know, if you're not doing anything i've got a ton of chemistry i could use some help on. oh, and just so you know, you're pretty freakin amazing.
Glad to hear they are treating you so well... just as it should be for someone as special as you. We'll miss you at bowling today, but I'll stop by later this week with the newsletter and whatever gossip I can gather, so you're not out of the loop.

YEAH passing gas!!!!!! That is a great feat after surgury. I am thinking of you here on the ground level in MO! You are an amazing person! Keep the blogging coming, but do rest in your suite cuz the weeds are growing at home!!!!
yay! i'm so glad to hear you're doing so well!!! you really are amazing! if you need anything, just let me know :)
I'm leaving this note Wednesday morning. Hopefully you're on your way home by now looking forward to the mundane! I'm sure you've had enough excitement for awhile! My thoughts are with you and I'm pushing for your full recovery. All the fun winter weather is right around the corner waiting for you and your family and all the fun things you have planned. You gotta hurry and recover!!! Jenifer, your positive approach to life is an inspiration to us all and I hope you get to feeling better soon!
So I just talked to Jo and she said you're doing well and that Stevan's been visiting you. You've got a trillion stalker, hope you know... And I laughed out loud at your blog. I HATED that part about surgery. Passing gas is work? Who knew?!
Okay, so then the next day, I went to see a gynocologist - an appointment I've had for a month. It takes months between appointments here. And get told I'm going to be scheduled for surgery in January to take out a cystic ovary - and while he's at it why doesn't he just do a complete hysterectomy. Major, can't drive for a month, etc. And I just said to the doctor - well, I'm still not having a bad day! He's a nice English bloke - they call them Mr. here instead of Dr. and he was all apologetic about having me sign things and such stuff. Think Hugh Grant trying to have a conversation and you've got the idea. Anyway, cheers, as they say around here. Still praying for you. Have got a parking ticket costing £50 pounds, have just lost my last employee at my shop, have the English IRS chasing me up - but I'm STILL not having a bad day..... Oh - and your blog reminds me of what it says in the brochure they gave me to explain what I'm going to go through. It actually says "If your operation is in the morning you must starve from 12 midnight the night before....." Heh.
Your notes are following the booklet to a t. I 'm just hoping to hear that you have this astoundingly speedy recovery which breaks the stated rules.
Aloha Baby,
You are the BEST!!! You look great, sound great and okay lets just say it, no one could do this like you. The Hawaii Eror's have tons of prayer and love going your way. I was watching the video of you digging a bolder out in your backyard this last summer and you're one of a kind.
We love you and keep up the good work. Oh, did I say work? What's for dinner tonight....
Love you tons,
Katie and family
